well it started life as a plain stock mint green 225 slant six with a 904 trans and a 7/1/4 rear with 2.76 gears. the previous owner bought it and wouldnt have that. the car got repainted white with black on the top and he replaced the front bench with a set og konieg racing buckets and 3 point harness. under neath he swaped out all the guts with a 340 from a 70 challenger t/a with a 727 and an 8 3/4 rear with 3.55 suregrip. it has a mild comp cam with ported heads , edelbrock performer intake , griffin radiator , dual electric fans , quick ratio steering box , b&m transpak kit and hooker long tubes with dynomax 3 in goin all the way out back. it has 16 in torque thrust 2 wheels wrapped in kumho 245/45/16 tires. all the suspension has been redone with beefier leaf springs hal qa1 shocks and completely rebuilt front end with poly graphite bushings. most of the work was done by the previous owner who passed away and left it to his nephew who didnt like classics. he traded it for a 98 ford ranger at a dealership wich just so happened to be on the corner of the local car show event i went to often. i saw it for 10 thousand and took it home. i have 20 thousand in reciepts for the car and an appraisal for 25,500. i had to have it after selling my previous duster wich was a 318 with 4 speed and 3.23 surgrip rear. kicked my self in the ass on that one. so thats the story..... i love driving this car and going to the shows with it like i did in the old days.

That Challenger owner sounds like such a dweeb.
Just another reason why it seems America is a dying breed, and exactly why I am so much in love with these old cars. Lately I have pretty much given up on the rivalry between us Mopar guys and the Ford and Chevy guys, because it seems that alot of us realize that regardless of the brand, we are all being threatened and need to keep this hobby alive and do all we can to keep these cars on the road in spite of the enviro-weenie crowd and the government demonizing our old cars. It's almost like it one of the only reminders left of the American dream and the freedoms we enjoy next to guns and family values.

yeah it was funny when the owner of the challenger came out i said nice car and in kinda of a snobby way he said "yeah thanks". then he looked over at my car like "what the hell is that old car next to mine?" its funny. some people dont even know the challenger name has been around for so long, they just think its something cool dodge just came up with. retards!! and thank you very much for the comment!

Nice Duster.
Don't you just love rolling on to the new car dealerships in your old Mopar?
Let's them feel what a real car is all about.
