The original 318 was swapped for a 340 and Mopar Performance cast aluminum valve covers. It has an original AFB on top of a Weiand 8007 intake manifold. The rear end gears are 276 in a 741 case. The box is a Tremec five speed with an original pistol grip shifter exhibiting the original 4 speed bezel. It has Cherry Bomb glass packs off of 2.25 pipes and original cast iron manifolds. The chassis is tightened up with 2.5 round subframe connectors and new poly bushings on the frame. The front suspension is all rebuilt with boxed lower control arms. New brake rotors and calipers get squeezed by a new power booster. The electrical is all redone with blade fuses and a 120 Amp alternator. The headlights are amperaged up with relays and the extra large wiring goes into a heavy duty Ford solenoid relay switch. Sorry about that! The Mopar electronic distributor is assisted by the Blaster 2 coil and MSD 6AL controller. The four row cool box does it's job and the engine can sit and idle all day with out over heating.I get over 20 mpg on regular unleaded gas. It cruises at 70 winding up only 1500 rpm. I built it to drive to work, which is a 22 mile drive. I really enjoy going to work.

You know what happens when you're having fun welding with a new mig welder? You make an impulsive decision to weld up the side marker holes and remove the rain gutters off of your plymouth. That's kinda what happen to the Blue Starship, but it makes it look cleaner and stockier. It also reminds me of Richard Pettie's Roadrunner with welded up side markers. Of course NASCAR doesn't need them.

The engine bay is much cleaner now, but I didn't have any updated photos. I'll work on that and post them later
