I bought my "Project" in 1999 from a friend who had a son born and didn't have the money or time to do anything with the restoration of it. I bought it for $800. I helped my friend install new brakes, tires, leafsprings, Carter Thermoquad and 360 intake that was in the trunk when he got the car. I helped him get it through Va. safety and emissions inspections. Then I got the car. It was in gray primer, interior is all original, has #'s matching 318, 904 trans., and 3.55 rear-end. I allways wanted a '68-'70 Roadrunner, but this was the closest to my dreamcar I could ever hope to get. I started to build my Roadrunner clone. I got a buldge hood, fixed some rust in the rear quarters and had Maaco paint it (to at least look okay from 10 feet). Then I rebuilt and Blueprinted the engine. Bored 030 over, alignhoned, balanced, stuffed with hypereutetic pistons and chromemoly rings. I was told by the machine shop that the crank was forged, and I found out the block was an early '72 thick-walled mill

(bulletproof). I drove the car on nice days and to shows/cruise-ins often. I had to put most of the restoration on hold, because I had a daughter born in 2001. Then just last month, a lady pulled out of her driveway right in front of me
I got settlement from her insurance co. (not enough to fix it all) Now I'm back to rebuilding it again. You can checkout pictures at: http://www.motortopia.com/roadrunnerman/cars
