1998 Dodge Dakota R/T. I watched the dealer pull it off of the carrier when it arrived in May of 1998. It is a Deep Ameythist Club Cab with the 5.9 liter. Auto trans, power everything, 3.92 suregrip.
I've always been a fan of Mopar Muscle cars. But being on a budget and needing a daily driver, the R/T fit the bill. I would just make it into what I liked most about the older Muscle Cars. Looks, Power, Torque, Performance.
Over the years the R/T has undergone several transformations. The 1st was the addition of a SHAKER hood from Terry at PROGLASS in Avilla, In. Very nice guy. The 2nd was the install of MP PCM, MSD 6A ignition box, MSD wires, K&N 14X3 and X-treme flow top. Following this was the install of an MBRP `Cuda exhaust and rollpan. The 3rd and probably the best thing, was the install of a 8 psi and intercooled ProCharger S/C. I installed this with the help of my friend Ramin Ansari. Along with this install was the Edelbrock headers, MP valve covers, Aeromotive fuel pump and delivery unit, true dual exhaust(single chamber Flowmasters), MSD BTM box, and the gauges to monitor everything. Added later was the B&M MegaShifter install I did myself. Had to modify both the stock cable mount and trans shift lever to make this work in this application.
My R/T is not the fastest or best looking MOPAR in Ma's stable, but it's mine and I'm very happy with it and will keep it to hand down to my Son. Dad, if you're reading this, ya should of kept that Road Runner!!
